Equatorial Guinea Minister for Culture, Tourism, Press and Information Juan Jose Ekuna speaks to Capitol Intelligence/CI Africa using CI Glass that Italian oil major ENI will soon join US majors Chevron and Marathon in drilling for oil and gas in the mineral rich west African nation.

Ekuna was attending the celebration of Equatorial Guinea first national pavilion at the Venice Biennale held at the Palace Dona’ dalle Rose.

Also, the event hosted an investment summit of dozens of Italian, US and international companies looking to invest, particularly in agriculture, in geopolitically strategic country of of more than 12m.

The official pavilion and the investment summit is the personal initiative of the Equatorial Guinea Vice President Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue with the Fondazione Dona’ dalle Rose of Countess Chiara Modica Dona’ dalle Rose.

Chevron CEO Mike Wirth is scheduled to attend a special ceremony and reception at the pavilion in Venice in the coming weeks, with the possible attendance of ENI CEO Claudio Desclazi. On July 18, the Fondazione Dona’ dalle Rose hosted US Ambassador Tilman Fertitta at Palace Dona’ dalle Rose.
